Motion Perception:
Definition: Shrinking objects are perceived to be
retreating. Enlarging objects appear to be approaching. Large objects appear to
be moving slower than small objects.
The baseball is large in this
picture, especially in comparison to the baseball player. This is an example of
motion perception because the baseball seems to be coming toward you.
